Jorge Amigo Lechuga

Bachelor’s Degree in Physics in 2000 from the University of Santiago de Compostela. After working as a junior consultant in R (Galician cable operator) and the Technological Institute of the USC, he decided to continue his academic education at the University of Liverpool, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Biosystems and Computer Science. The completion of the Master’s Degree coincides with the creation of the National Genotyping Centre in 2003, which allowed him to join the Genomic Medicine Group (GMX), led by Angel Carracedo.

In 2011, he obtained a place as Technical Support Staffat the MICINN to provide support to theCenter for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CIMUS), where he obtained his PhD in Molecular Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2013. In 2015, hestarted coordinating the bioinformatics area of the Sequencing Unit of the Galician Public Foundation for Genomic Medicine, where heis still working at present.
